OpenAI introduced Work for longer multi-step tasks across selected files and connected apps, with visible progress, redirection, approval points and Scheduled Tasks for recurring or monitored work.
Why it matters
Fewer handoffs can save real time, but a finished file looks authoritative even when its source reading, formulas, narrative or permissions are weak. Deliverable creation makes the review contract more important, not less.
