The Human Bit is built to help you structure real work without collecting who you are. No account, no profile, and the practical habit that matters most: leave identifying and confidential details out of what you type.
How it works today.
This describes the live product as reviewed on the date above. It will be updated before accounts, saved server-side plans or any new data collection are introduced.
What you type to Bit is processed by an AI provider
When you chat with Bit or use the Work Planner, the text you type is sent to our server and passed to an AI model provider to generate the reply. It is used to answer you, not to build a profile of you. Do not include names, confidential business information, health details, credentials or anything you do not have permission to share.
Anonymized question topics, kept 90 days
So we can see what people come to Bit for and where it falls short, we keep a short, lowercased snippet of each question (up to the first 300 characters) and whether Bit answered it. It is not linked to any account, session or IP address, and it is automatically deleted after 90 days. The snippet can still contain whatever you typed, which is exactly why the habit above matters: keep names and confidential details out of what you ask.
Plans stay in your browser
The Work Planner keeps your session in your browser's own tab storage so you can refresh and continue. We do not store your consultation history on our servers, and closing the tab clears it.
No situation in the address
The homepage passes your general description through temporary browser-tab storage and clears that transfer after the first step. It does not place your situation in the page address, browser history or an external request.
Page analytics, without cookies
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits. It is cookie-free and does not identify you personally. Our own product events (like “opened a guide”) are typed identifiers that never include the text you write, and they currently stay inside your browser tab.
Email only if you subscribe
If you sign up for the Weekly, your email address is stored with our email provider (Mailchimp) and used only to send it. Every edition has an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
External sources have their own policies.
Updates, tool guides and lessons link to official providers and independent publishers. Opening those links takes you outside The Human Bit, where the destination’s privacy and tracking rules apply.
