Claude Cowork now runs on web and mobile. The agent moved off your desk, and off your machine.

What changed

Anthropic put Claude Cowork into beta on web and mobile for Pro, Max and Team plans, and for Enterprise plans where an admin has enabled it. Cloud sessions run on Anthropic's servers rather than your computer, sessions and files save to your Claude account, and scheduled tasks run with no device online. Local file access, browser use and computer use remain desktop-only.

Why it matters

An agent you could once only run while watching it on your own machine can now work on a server while your devices are off. That removes friction, but it also moves your files and task context into cloud sessions and lets scheduled work act while nobody is present, so where data lives and who reviews an unattended run matter more than before.

What to do

Run one bounded, non-sensitive task as a cloud session, confirm which files and connectors it can reach and where they are stored, and require any scheduled or unattended run to leave its result waiting for a named reviewer before it can send, change or delete anything.
